Getting to know our wines – Three popular whites
At Almaden Vineyards, we believe that attention to detail is the key to making spectacular wines. That’s why we rely on the expertise of our winemaker, Mike Donich, and his team to oversee all aspects of the grape-growing, harvest and winemaking process. Our team uses the finest resources available to transform our high quality grapes into great tasting wines.
Here’s an introduction to three of our most popular white wines. Which one is your favorite?
Mountain Rhine: This fresh, crisp white wine offers floral aromas and a crisp finish. It’s popular with consumers and also received a platinum medal at the 2011 Consumer Wine Competition, meaning that it wowed a panel of professional judges as well! Available in a 1.5-liter magnum as well as 3-liter and 5-liter wine casks, Mountain Rhine is a great beverage to take along to tailgate parties and other outdoor events. It pairs well with grilled or fried chicken and even apple pie!
Heritage Chardonnay: Chardonnay is always a favorite, and this wine is crisp and semi-dry with aromas and flavors of apple and pear. When we’re looking for a versatile, people-pleasing wine to serve at parties, Chardonnay is one of our first choices since it appeals to just about everyone. Try serving it with a cheese platter and an assortment of your favorite dips, chips and other appetizers. Heritage Chardonnay is available in a 1.5-liter magnum as well as 3-liter and 5-liter wine casks.
Heritage Moscato: The Muscat grape originated in southern Europe but it’s gained a huge following here in the United States. Our Heritage Moscato is delicate yet filled with flavors of fresh fruit, including ripe guava and Bartlett pear. It’s also refreshingly acidic, which means that it will pair nicely with a wide array of foods, everything from grilled teriyaki salmon to pork tenderloin with a fruity glaze. Heritage Moscato is available in a 1.5-liter magnum as well as 3-liter and 5-liter wine casks.
